3) Create your abstract
- You can download a format template from the Symposium website (See “3: Abstract Submission” on the website).
- If the abstract is for a colloquium session, download the one for colloquium and create an abstract without deleting “Colloquium” on the top left.
- An abstract for a poster presentation should be 1 page (A4 size).
- An abstract for a chemistry education presentation should be up to 2 pages (A4 size).
4) Please note that the Presentation Number will be added directly to each abstract document by the Office.
5) Convert the document to a PDF file, with fonts embedded.
- If they are not embedded, they might appear garbled in the Online Abstract Book.
6) Prepare your Presentation ID and the password you set up.
- A Presentation ID, which is issued when a Presentation Application is registered, is a combination of numbers and letters that starts with “P”.
(Please note that an ID which starts with “R” is a Registration ID.)

Regarding the presentations at the Symposium
*IMPORTANT: All presenters must read the following guidelines
Instructions for oral presentations and poster presentations
Please read the instructions above regarding connecting to the projector, sizes of poster boards, and other details.
For your information:
- A Presentation Number for an oral presentation represents the date, venue, and turn on the day, for your presentation.
For example, a Presentation Number “17B2” means that you will present on the 17th, at the venue B, and you will be the second presenter on the day there. - A Presentation Number for a poster presentation represents on which day of the Symposium and at which venue you will present the poster as well as the number assigned to your poster that day.
For example, a Presentation Number “2P100” means that you will present your poster on the second day of the Symposium, at the venue P, and your poster will be assigned the number 100 that day.
How to submit posters
Please refer to the Instructions for oral presentations and poster presentations.
If it turns out you cannot attend the Symposium due to unforeseen circumstances
Please let the Office know in advance if you find out that you would not be able to attend the Symposium.
Please note that all fees are non-refundable.
If a presenter for a poster will be absent from the Symposium, please ask another participant to put up the poster.
The person must have completed the Registration process for their own participation. (On-site Registration is possible, too.)
